EXTRAORDINARY TIMES
A game about the Space Race
Extraordinary Times is a board game created as a collaborative group project. I was responsible for prototyping and creating some of the physical components of the game and then creating graphics that fit the design language that my teammates created.
The story of the game takes place during the Space Race as the US and USSR battle for the Moon. Players are on teams of two where one person represents Mission Control and the other represents their country's Flight Crew. Teams take turns making maneuvers and managing resources until they complete five missions in space before returning to Earth to complete the game.

Teammates sit across from each other with a border between them.
MISSION CONTROL
Mission Control is in charge of hiring astronauts to go on missions and managing the resources (Morale, Ship Condition, and Fuel) required in order for Flight Crew to make their movements in space.

If their country's Global Opinion is in their favor, Mission Control can use Funding Cards that can be combined with Flight Crew's Maneuver cards to quickly gain advantage over the other team or regain lost resources.
FLIGHT CREW
Each country's Flight Crew moves their corresponding ship token on a gridded board that represents the distance between Earth and the Moon. Entering and leaving atmospheres consumes fuel, so players must keep that in mind as they progress through the game.
